Seems I ran into a lot of accessbility-themed articles today.

Brian Rosmaita presents this paper at SxSW(South by SouthWest) about an accessibility first approach to web design. While this probably doesn’t present anything radically new to web designers more familiar with good web design, I’m quite sure that this’ll be an interesting read regardless of your level of expertise.
Dustin Diaz gives us an example of taking the XHTML standard to the extreme and completely forgetting about semantic coding. His basic point: validation isn’t everything.
Design Eye for the [insert name here] Guy is a web-design take on the popular show Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Sites they’ve made suggested redesigns for include craigslist and Jacob Nielsen’s UseIt.
In 2003, Built for the Future sponsored a contest to redesign Nielsen’s UseIt using his accessibility guidelines while making everything look better. Awesome results. I wish Nielsen would put a little more effort in making his site more aesthetically pleasing for us “normal” users.
Interesting thoughts on whether comments are really necessary on websites. Don’t worry. I won’t be shutting down my comments any time soon.
